Hi Folks

Anyone else on the pre mixed Enbrel find the needles are getting worse?

When I was on the Enbrel I had to mix myself, the needles were always really sharp and there was no problem injecting , since they went to the pre mixed I noticed the needles weren't as good, and the latest batch I have are even worse.

anyone else out there with a similar problem?

Thanks

Jo. <ouch!>

Hi Jo,
I'm on the pre-mixed ones and have been for a while. I can't say i really take notice of the needles with embrel, i tend to just grit my teeth and jab it in haha. Monday is my day though and opening new box so will take notice tomorrow and let you know what i think! Xxx

Hi Jo

I agree with you on this! I never had any problems with 'mix yourself' needles but I find the 'pre-mix' needles are invariably blunt. Occasionally I get a batch that aren't too bad but it doesn't happen often.

When I mentioned it to Healthcare at Home they said I should try injecting into a different place, the skin in the area I use has become tough and thickened!! But having injected in the same way for four years without any problems it seems more likely to be the needles rather than my skin Tongue I don't inject the same spot each time just the area (left side of stomach is less painful for some reason!) but quite often end up with a bruise these days.

Thought it was just me getting soft!

Hi Lyn,

Thanks for your experiences too, I alternate which leg I use and inject in a different area each time, so I'm certain it's the needles. It will be interesting to see if many more feel the same.

I too have mentioned it to healthcare at home who gave a similar reply, I wonder if the drug company themselves could help. I did email Wyeth about it but never got a reply.

Jo,
Just had my injection and to me the needle looked pretty sharp... but I haven't ever had the one you have to mix yourself so i suppose i don't have anything to compare them too.
However i used to inject into my thigh and i found that difficult, now i inject in my belly and it's much easier.
